Just a comment: This only appears to occur when I am on this site. Load time is very slow, on initial connect, but also if I am reading a thread, then use the back button to return to the forum, the list of topics appears, then approx 30 seconds later, I get returned to the point in the topics where I left off.

Don't have the fastest machine, Dell 1.7 mHz, XP/SP3, IE8, 768MB Ram. Also, I don't bother to try to get on in afternoon EST, but see big difference in early AM !

More about : hang time

They don't make "mHz computers" anymore. But no problem. I have the same issue, when viewing a forum with lots of threads. I personally think it's because THW servers are a little overloaded, because looking at the "page loaded in 0.xx" seconds part down below, these pages take forever. I wouldn't worry about it though. Not really a problem unless you spend hours just posting stuff.

Being returned to your viewing point is actually a feature of your browser, but load time can certainly be amped up during high-traffic hours.

I'm getting the same thing. Again, not *** super fast computer (2GHz P4 1GB RDRAM, WinXP, I.E.8). It hangs constantly as pages try to completely load. CPU shows 100%.

I've been variant of course with the site, or seems at least. Which is strange sometimes. But alot of site are that way at times.

But yes, time finds it way to slow everything down as it would seem for some reason.

The site probably is well over 10mbs to access at first. Probably something to work with once and awhile. Might under some though too at times to say as well.

Most applaication these days run at about that of maybe 1mb or so to run at first. Even though an Image may take its place of use at times, which can be fairly large at times. Still, thats one thing to processes at a time. With everything else. Then give or take on a break down, "break up".

It should not matter if use of the back button, or the ok button at the bottom of screen, and sometimes using the ok button takes you back to the top of the forum, instead of 30 items into the forum where you were.

I have been on forums for last hour or so, clicking the ok button was taking me back to the top of forum, and I waited for a minute or so, but was not returned to where I had been (into the forum posts). Now, all of a sudden it began working as it should, only a 4 or 5 second delay.

Use an adblocker and the problems all go away (in other words, the slowness is caused by all the ad server scripting and iframe loading).

I don't have that problem. I have a hosts manager that blocks ad servers.

Obviously it doesn't block them well enough.

Firefox with Ad-Block turned on does it for me. Navigating this and other Forums with lots of adverts is all quite speedy.
