I know a lot of people have this setup but somehow it's kinda strange. I can't find any review of someone with the BEST price/oc quality E6600 CPU with a P5W DH Deluxe. It's allways the E6700 while this cpu has less overclock capabilities when compared with the E6600. The E6600 has been able to run at 4 Ghz with aircooling. My dad is going to buy a E6600 with P5W DH Deluxe and GEIL DRR2-800 CL4-4-4-12 memory and an Antec P150 case etc but question is what must I do within the bios to make it run stable @ 3Ghz. Any experts? Thx for your help.

just read wusy's overclocking guide at the top of this forum
with these components you will hit 3ghz with great ease

good luck! :)

yes thx true.....Wusy really ownz. But I have some question.......somehow it's like everyone wants to overclock to 3 ghz and more but one think that I don't understand is that when I do it it's like I have some jet engine standing next to me making a lot of noise when the fan of the Artic Cooling Freezer Pro 7 starts to speed up to 2600 and more rpm. When I don't overlock I have problems in telling weather the system is running or if it's turned off. ;)
In other words......why are many fans not supported in the Asus P5W DH Deluxe? Is it too hard to support rpm control for more then stock only cooling (from which I read some people are complaining too with the same problems)? I connected the fan power to the 4 cpu fan connector.

Honestly... I really doubt 3 ghz is going to be pushing a high load temp. I really doubt that your cpu controlled fan will be running fast with a 3 ghz oc on the 6600.

Well, I use Core Temp and check the temps...they are perfectly fine around 45 degrees idle....I mean please explain why the fan needs to be running at 2600 rmp. It's not nessecary I agree. I was also like "WHAT IS HAPPENING"...the setup bought is perfect for overclocking.
