I know this should be in the monitor section but that section is barren and my post won't be answered for a long time.

Alright so with that out of the way, what would be a good monitor? Preferably CRT so I can change resolution without it looking like crap and also one that can do 85 hertz refresh rate so I dont strain my eyes too much :)

any ideas? no budget limit just go crazy -im just curious

Arent there any 17" monitors wich go higher then 1600*1200?

I have a 17" CRT wich has a max resolution of 1920*1440 @60Hz, its a dell D1025HE from 1998 (old, but has a very sharp picture and good colors)

Hmm interesting...

Now here's another question: Which would be better for gaming today? an LCD or a CRT

I'm talking in terms of picture quality/max res/refresh rate.
I guess response time is important too.
Again I'm just curious any input is appreciated :)

The only reason problem with CRTs is that they're heavy and run hot and take up a lot of space. For image quality, it's hard to beat a CRT.
