I want to buy a new pc, however i,m not sure what brand and chipset of MB and wich brand of RAM.

What i,m looking for is:

CPU (my thinking so far would be s775 CTD)
Mainboard (so much to choose from)
Memory (Probably 1 or 2 gigs of DDR2, but do i go for 667, 800 etc)
Case (Its probably going to be a gigabyte)
PSU

I already have a club3d X1900RX, harddrives, floppy, DVDR.

Any help would be greatly apreciated :D

Do you have a budget in mind? What do you plan to do with your new system?

One thing to keep in mind when using parts from an old build. Your hard drive and cd/dvd drives are IDE. The new motherboards have only one connection for IDE devices. That's means 1 HDD and 1 CD/DVD.

And as WR2 asked, we need a budget, and need to know what it'll be used for.

Thanks for the replys so far. :)

My budget will probably be around 1000 euro's.
I did'nt know about that ide thing, that means i probably need to add a sata drive, i,ve already got one.

My (future) pc, is mostly used for downloading, general internet surfing, unpacking (winrar) (my current pc does not like this very much, slow as a snail), watching DVD and also HD video content. And the occasional game.

I guess i,m looking for as high performance as i can get, but i,m not interested in overclocking.

My current specs are:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200
2 gig DDR ram
x1900rx 256 gpu
Asus A8N-E Mainboard

Your current set up isn't really that bad. To upgrade:

E6600
8800 GTS
Giga DS3 or S3 / Asus PB5 series

Your vid card should be fine. What kind of hard drive are you currently using? You'll need new ram unfortunately. Since you're not going to OC, get either the Corsair or Kingston value line, DDR2 533 or 667.

I have no idea how much that'll cost in euros. :(

I,m using a Western Digital 300GB IDE, and an Seagate Barracuda 120GB Sata drive.

Ps: While responding in this thread, my pc gave the following error message 3 times in a row.

STOP: 0x0000009C, followed by a bunch of numbers.
Any idea what it means?
