so I bought this 100 pack of regular blank memorex CD-R's.
After a couple of months, I needed to use them and popped them into my Asus DVD burner (it had been working perfectly prior to this.
And the Drive would not read the cd-r, as if nothing was there.

At first I thought might be the cds or something, cause I tested with emtpy memorex dvd's and I could burn on them no problem.

so I went and tested the the discs on another pc I have, and it actually burned them w/o a hitch.

So is my dvd burner dying do I need to buy a new one? its a bit over a year old.

Are there any other solutions???

Try one last test. Get a disk of a different make, and see if your burner works with that. Just because Memorex dvd's worked does not mean Memorex CD's will work (or vice versa), because the laser technology is different, burning to 2 different depths on the media! :)

I have both, both are good burners but the LG H22N isnt a very good reader for dvd`s. By the way in my opinion and experience Memorex media is crap. I wouldnt buy Memorex nor would I take it if it was free.
