-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Right off the bat. I know its odd to go with a socket 939 system at this day and age. But I feel its going to be a phenominal upgrade from the athlon XP 1600+, 512mb ram and 9600SE I have now. Also I couldnt find a setup within my budget for a Core 2 Duo that I really liked. Plus I have always loved AMD and I want to stick with them. Plust thats a smoking deal on that cpu.

Any comments? BTW I already have case, psu, hd, and dvd rom drive.

Because I feel I dont need it at this point in time. I want to spend some time having the top of the line single core cpu. Then when the dual core fx's come down in price maybe in a year I may go dual core. Not many games support dual core right now. Im happy with it.

Isn't a zalman 9700 led an overkill for your cpu?
Unless you have found an o/c way to milk 50% + out of your cpu. You could have been perfectly fine with an artic freezer 64 pro, for the 1/3 of your zalman.

Oh well, best of luck.

You probaly wont be able to upgrade to a Dual core FX by the time they are lower priced. You have a 939 system, should have went AM2

Unfortunately, FX chips won't come down to the price of low-end Core2Duo chips.....and those overclocked will spank an FX, for less money.

On your total system cost, a 6300 would have cost hardly anything more :!:

Oh well, better luck next time. At least you can have some good gaming with the GTS.
