I'm finally going to DIY a new computer after the untimely demise of my pentium 4 box last June. Since she was a laptop I have no parts to carry over, except the mouse and UPS. I plan to buy parts January 1st, as I heard a rumor that's when the 8800 is going to get a price drop.
As the new box will be fully operational concurrent with the release of The Burning Crusade I've called the plans for it Crusader.
I plan a reasonable overclock, none of this "as far as you can go" ambitiousness. 400 MHz FSB should take the E6300 to 2800 MHz on stock air.
I'm concerned the most about the brand of the widescreen monitor, as well as the interface between the widescreen and the 8800 GTS.
Comments and critiques are welcome and appreciated as we're ready to cut metal and will be doing so in two weeks.
Budget is ~$1500.

(Already got the $55 Saitek Eclipse II keyboard for $44 at best buy. )
Subtotal: $1305
That leaves me to buy a +550W PSU and a decent case. Thoughts about those? About the choice of monitor? Concerns, comments, good wishes?
