noob first build, how can i tell dual core is working?

heres my rig
core 2 6400,
evga nforce 680i motherboard,
OCZ platinum 2gb DDR2 model #OCZ2P800R22GK

its my first build and it went together no problem. but i dont know if dual core is working, is there anyway to tell maybe in the bios?

Not in BIOS.......in Windows.

Many ways to tell, but you can do a Crtl-Alt-Del, go to the Performance tab, and look at the CPU usage at the left. Run some different programs and watch what happens......they'll both change % usage, in varying numbers though.

You can also run Prime 95 for a short period of time on each core and you'll see 100% on one core, then 100% usage on the other.
