Suggestions for upgrade

Hello I have a question about a upgrade. I am on a limited budget, about 300.00 or so for a upgrade. I know its not a lot but I already have a few parts.

Current system
Intel P4 2.4
512mb ram
Abit IS7-V Motherboard
365w enermax ps
100gb IDE hd.

Parts I have
Coolermaster Centurion case
550w Mushkin ps
7600GT PCI Express card (switched out hooking up a home network for this and the RAM)
4)512MB DDR400 ram Cas2

I am looking at these 3 options but open to others
Asus A8N
AMD FX55


or
ASrock 775Dual-VSTA
Intel core2 duo E6300


or
GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3
Intel Core2 Duo E6300
1GB or 2GB Corsair DDR2 ram
(I would do this if I could sell my current ram if there is still a market, need to check.

Last option (E6300, DS3) is the BEST upgrade path, but isn't the cheapest......so comes down to your budget. If you can swing it, definitely go that route. The ASRock mobo option is a halfway upgrade on the cheap......it won't have blistering performance, but will let you upgrade in stages.

But if you can afford it now, go with the 6300 and DS3.

Agreed, Last option is the best. You'll be able to sell that old ram easily for some DDR2 you'll need on the Core 2 Duo motherboard. Try Ebay
