Bog standard cable (no gold plated) - how far can it go before the video
degrades?

And with gold plated?

Thanks,

I'm sure you'll get a better answer, but I can at least say that I've got a
50 foot "speaker cable" from Radio Shack that I got for 8 bucks.... I
haven't had any problems with using it for my webcam around the house. I
usually pipe video from a Hi8 camcorder, and captured at 320x240 usually -
it looks pretty decent, with no signs of signal fade.

That's my low-tech .02 :)

If you use coax video cable (RG6 or RG59), you can easily run up to 800
ft. without video degradation.

WIth standard video cable (the type with RCA connectors), probably
100-200 ft, but that's just a guess.
