I am using a laptop with built-in wireless b adapter and a Motorola SBG900 wireless gateway/modem. Charter is the cable provider. Just this last week I have been losing connection to my network, but there is no indication other than data stops comming in. If I repair the connection it will work one or two more times. After that the only thing I have been able to do to fix it is unplug the modem and plug it back in. I've been using the same setup for at least 11 months and have not relocated my laptop or installed any new drivers/software in awhile.

Also, it seems to only lose connection if when am trying to downloading large files or streaming media.

Any ideas?

Is you cable dropping or just your connection to the wireless router? Have you connected via Cat5 cable to see if it's just wireless related.

Also run NetStumbler to see if something is interfering with your connection.

You may need to reduce you MTU on the router.
