Hey guys, I don't think my ram is operating to its full capabilities.

I have
OCZ Platinum Revision 2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820227139
4-4-4-15
2.1 V

with
Intel C2D E6400
Gigabyte DS3 Mobo

CPU-Z says:
For Processor:
Bus Speed: 266.7 MHz
Rated FSB: 1066.7 MHz

For RAM:
Frequency: 400 MHz
FSB:DRAM : 2:3
CAS# Latency: 5.0 Clocks
RAS# to CAS# Delay: 5 Clocks
RAS# Precharge: 5 Clocks
Cycle Time (Tras): 15 Clocks

I am not sure if this is how its supposed to be. If it needs to be changed, what do I do? I am pretty sure it has something to do with BIOS.

Thanks
Clutch.

the answer is right in front of u :D .

click on the ip address u supplied and look at whoozzazzzz response for pros. and theres your answer to optimizing memory.

also, try installing 1 memory stick and booting then the other then booting, then whooaaazz suggestion, some motherboards are funny like that.

If you are talking about the newegg link, I went to the customer reviews and there is no review from a whooozaazz or whatever.

Elaborate a little bit, please?

Thanks.

there is something from Whooaazzz or whatever, but that is beside the point. He said that he put them at 2.1v and ran the timmings at 4-4-4-12 @ 800mhz and it was runnin perfect, so that is what I would do if I were you, he said he had the same mobo as you. You just need to set them manually. When you open everest or CPU-Z, just right down the names beside their numbers and when you go into the bios, match them up and lower them from 5-5-5-15 to 4-4-4-12 and higher to voltage to 2.1v on the ram and you should be good to go. That is what he is saying, and that is probably what I would have tried as well.

This is his setting @ 2.1v
CAS# Latency: 4.0 Clocks
RAS# to CAS# Delay: 4 Clocks
RAS# Precharge: 4 Clocks
Cycle Time (Tras): 12 Clocks
@ 800mhz (400mhz in cpu-z or everest, it is 800mhz Double Data Rate Speed, just to clear it up if need be)

That would appear to be optimal settings for your memory at stock speeds!

Best,
