Hi guys.I`m going to upgrade to E6600 and need some help for pick a mobo.
i need a mobo with these options :
1- NO SLI or Crossfire :!:
2- at least one 1Gbps LAN.
3- on board audio.
4- VERY VERY Good OCing ability :!: :!: (most important)
5- very reasonable price 8)
6- IEEE1394 is not needed...
thats it ,i don`t want a high end mother board just something that let me OC a E6600 to something about 3.2~3.6...
one of my friend suggested ABIT AB9 Pro . how is that ?
also i need a good Memory for that mobo... (DDRII 667 or 800 , not so expensive! 1Gb is enough for now...)
thanks guys...and sorry for my bad english

Gigabyte S3 (P965) or DS3, the solid caps are the only difference and regular caps are more than enough for the time you will keep the board. Its the cheapest board that fits all your needs and with the best features.
The AB9 Pro would certainly reach your OCing goal, but the Gigabyte is more widely knowned and youre more prone to find information regarding it.

This 1GB stick would be the best for you. Its cheap and its got great overclockability.

Actually I think the limiting factor in the whole setup will be you! haha, with this setup and proper cooling you could easily reach up to 4Ghz, and shoot for the moon at ~4.2Ghz

abit AB9 Pro is a great board, and far superior to the one the last guy suggested, from my experience with those two boards (I have the AB9 Pro and the DS3).

have a look here for O/C guide for C2D. there are some good mother board recomendations there.

and have a look here for Tom's test and comparison of 7 boards. (good read, nice cover of O/C ability)
