Hello all. I just helped a buddy of mine upgrade his computer video card from an 9700 (pro?) AGP to an X800GTO AGP.

I am pretty good at knowing which PCI-Express cards are good, but I am not so good with AGP cards.

I advised him to get the X800GTO AGP For $135 (US) on newegg. Did I do good? Or was there something better I should have done?

It should be a pretty decent upgrade, shouldn't it?

If you get the red sapphire one with the larger cooler (the only one I think newegg has now) It unlocks to 16 pipes. It has the 430 core.

You burn the ISO image to a cd then boot from the cd. The menu comes up and promts you. Pretty straight forward. Easiest video card bios flash that I have ever done.
