good day guys!!! Im a newbie here so dont be hard on ok
just wanna know if I can use a cross-over cable on a router then the other end of the cable goes to the switch? I know most people use the straight cable im just thinking if it is possible. And if it is possible is there any advantages or disadvantages.
As noted in the other replies, auto midi-x will cover a great deal of evils. If the router or switch are new than a couple of years then it is very likely the have auto midi-x.
In days gone by, a crossover cable was required between like devices, PC to PC, switch to switch. Now it is simpler.
Think about this one.... What is the difference between a cross-over cable and a straight-through. The pin layout. Thus making no difference what so ever (speed wise).
