Today when I started up my Gateway MX7118 with an integral Broadcom 802.11G wireless card, I get an error message that there is limited no connectivity. The windows error message said it could be caused by the network not assigning a network address.
I checked the network configuration and there are IP addresses assigned - IP address and subnet mask. The default gateway is blank, however.
(I was running just fine until I installed Network Magic, which could only find one of my computers. I've since whacked the software. It was NOT on my laptop.)
Ever since I installed the DI-524 I've proplem after problem. I've already had it replaced once. Now what?
WEP is enable. Automatically assign IP is enabled.

You proably need to uninstall the dlink software and reinstall it. and or the intergrated too.

Then do the setup again.

Intergrated cards on desktop pc generally have the antenna hidden/shielded behind the case and cause poor performance. If its one with the antenna on coax they work ok.

As for IP it will select one even if no connections was made. Just want have the lease times, dns ....

Thanks for the tip. I sent the same question to Gateway and they suggested doing a Windows restore. I've had the laptop for all of a month.
