Keep in mind that the FX-74 gets spanked by Core 2 Quad. All of these $3000 Quad FX setups use a processor that is two steps down and 400 mhz slower, the FX-70.

So if you thought a Core 2 Quad made the FX-74 beg for mercy, the FX-70 is only worse.

Sad thing is you can build a Core 2 Quad system for way lower than $3000 with 2 gigs and an 8800.

In all fairness, add~$200 for an 8800GTX. Your point is well taken though.

Opps, thanks, forgot there was a difference. Yes, the point is well made by both me and others. Core 2 Quad is WAY MORE POWERFUL than an FX-70 system and yet manages to be much cheaper.

And to those who argue that companies that build systems are more expensive don't forget:

- They get better pricing than we do on parts (Which is pretty much more than offset by labor costs)
- You can't get the parts to make an FX-70 series system, so your only choice is to buy from someone else.

Considering what comes with it that not bad considering that only $3-400 more than I spent for a 2GB 4400+ with 7800GT last year.

yeah they should just pack itin like Intel shoudl ahve for the 3+ years of NetBurst or like nVidia should have done when ATi overtook them or like ATi should have done when nVidia overtook them.

And basically you removed everything off the rig to get it down to that small amount. Nothing like having a quad-core with a GeForce 7600.

Face it Baron, Quad FX is a failure when compared to Intel. Fail. Fail. Fail.

You're the only one being negative.

TC merely listed a price list of a system that costs just as much as the 4X4 with more added value than the one in the link. I see nothing wrong with it.

Just cause you don't want the 4X4 to look bad, doesn't mean it isn't a bad choice for most people. It's simply ridiculous to pay that amount of money for something that can be built for less and do as much or more than the same machine.

Hey, no one is stopping you from buying your QFX system, BM. Have at it. I didn't read one time where someone is trying to stop you from your purchase.

This thread smells like it was created by a hand that's been shoved up a sock puppet's a$$.

No it looks like that says "8800GTS" GO and configure a C2Q at Dell or AlienWare and see how much it costs. As a matter of fact configure one anywhere you can find it. Tell me if it's less than $4000.

QFX is a great success. it made the intel fanboys into blithering idiots offering every excuse as to why it's no good.

ALL HAIL QFX!!!!

Most products from AMD with "FX" in the name are over-priced for the performance. QuadFX seems to be no different, at least for now. They'd have been smarter to have waited for their 65nm parts.

Where did it succed again? I would like to see one article where they claim that the QFX is a successful platform.

And BLOGS don't count as articles.

Blithering idiot intel fanboys don't need excuses, they just have to point to the QFX and say "See. I wasn't lying."

Core 2 sucks? Yeah. It sure does. As much as your tap dancing about how much more your 4X4 system will be great in March/April when Vista and R600 is available.

Hey, by then, I might have a 45nm ES sample to play with.

Kind of like EE or even now X? I mean how can Intel sleep with themselves charging $1000 for 965? 6400 can clock to X6800 speeds so they must be trolling for suckers.

I guess not suckers though since Jumping Jack and Ninja have it. Maybe the "decision-challenged" would be a better description.

You seem to be blithering pretty good there. Vista is due on Jan 30 as is R600. Actually R600 should ship sooner to get some stock ready for the release.

Sure. But at least I don't have to tout about a system I am suppose to get, when before it released, all we heard was how much the 4X4 was gonna be better, and how you were gonna get it one, when it was available.

Pure and utter crap (since you think BS is overdone).

You can still get your precious 4X4 when Vista and R600 is available. More power to you. But get off your high horse. This thread isn't about you, it was about how overpriced the 4X4 setup is compared to any C2Q or C2D build. PERIOD.

YOU made it about you when you started accusing supposed intel fanboys of this and that. Right. Since when is a price list vs. what is offered being a fanboy? So, if I put up a price list for a AM2 X2 system, I am an AMD fanboy?

Keep it coming, BM, cause you don't bother me, as much as I don't bother you. But I don't go calling people idiots or fanboys, cause I don't have to...I let their own posts show their own stupidity.
