I got this psu on the way today hoping it would power my new rig which will be
Quad 6600
8800 gtx single card only
2 hdd's
2 DVD drives
no external sound card

I can return it and get a bigger one if need be, but if someone has some experience with this please let me know.

First of all, why did you ask after you order the part?

Anyway, yeah, its more then enough, i would have with better quality though if i could afford to get an 8800gtx. dont get me wrong, the OCZ GamerXStream is by no means a low quality psu, but i think i would have gone with a Enermax Liberty or a good PC P&C Silencer psu instead.

Well I was originally going to build a e6600 with a 8800gts, but with the massive price cuts coming early next year on both the GPU and CPU, the quadcore 6600 will only be 530.00. so i was thinking this might future proof my rig for a while. what do you think ? normal work stuff by day, hardcore MMORP by night. I know there is no multithreaded app's yet, but I dont want to have to swap out the cpu, and psu within the first 1-2 years
