I have a Linksys WVC54G videocam which is wireless linked to a router. It
all works well and I can view the picture on my PC by entering the address
192.168.0.4
I wanted to use it as a webcam but when I go to Messenger it says I don't
have a webcam. ? I thought Windows media might help but that too says I
don't have a camera when I try to use it.
So I don't understand the techniques to enable anyone else to see my
picture. Would someone be kind enough to point me in the right direction.
many thanks.

IP cams generally won't work with the chat messaging progams like
Yahoo or MSN. You need to make a webpage some place like
geocities with a link to your cam. You will have to set up port
fowarding in your router so it will pass traffic to the IP cam.
Link below has some lan setup info.
