Hi, I'm thinking about the 7950GX2. I'm not looking for a recommendation or anything. For the purposes of this post, I already own this card.

What is this stuff with SLi you can't have dual monitors?

Does it mean I cannot two monitors connected to the card displaying different things? Can I do clone, meaning two monitors displaying the same thing?

Sorry for the nooby post, could not find the answer elsewhere!

You can run Multiple Display with SLI, but what is going to happen is that its going to paint one display with one GPU, and the other display with the other GPU.

Yeah you should be able to clone, at least I could on my 6800 GT.

Oh. That is all? I was under the impression that it would disable one GPU and make the other GPU give output to both displays....

Thanks for the clarification!

Take it it's the same with crossfire?

Yeah, If you enable SLI then you will only be able to get one monitor to work. You can disable SLI and run a different image on each screen or the same image.
