LAS VEGAS, NV (December 20, 2006) – Vigor Gaming Computer, a developer of custom gaming rigs and high end peripherals, will debut its Vigor Force Recon QX4 system, a top-end computer system based on AMD’s Quad FX4 dual socket CPU platform at CES 2007 here.

The Vigor Force Recon QX4 will be Vigor Gaming’s flagship system for “megatasking” enthusiasts, which allows users to run multiple, demanding applications and multi-threaded games. It will be shown with AMD at CES 2007; Booth: Central Plaza CP23, South 3 30368.

Given that I am currently streaming HD content off of a Dual 1.266Ghz PIII based HP DL380G2 that really isn't anything special.

Oh yea - funny it should mention being a "desired rig" for post-production...in a meeting with our post-prod guys a couple of days ago - specifically to discuss new machines and new hardware this "desired rig" (meaing QuadSUX in general) came up in the conversation and was quickly dimissed, by them, not by me, tho I certainly didn't argue the point..

So he can have more people bash him and/or his favorite company maybe? Who knows. Maybe he needs the abuse to validate himself in someway. ;)

I figured you guys would enjoy ridiculing a company who had the gall to sell them and then even show them off at an International Trade Show.

I hope they have one ready by then!

So much for Barons claims that QFX is not for the enthusiast and gamer.

Talking about shooting yourself in the foot.

Dude, seriously. Why such an attachment to AMD?

I have many actual monetary and emotional links to Intel, but I still ran Athlons in my PC's for years. AMD had a great part. They had a great run. The underdog beat Goliath at his own game. Huzzah.

Now that time is over. If you really do develop code, then the advantages of going with the industry leader should be obvious.

On a side note, did you guys know that this forum is one of the main places that AMD and Intel study to judge product acceptance? Oftentimes quotes are lifted straight from the forums for our larger presentations. It's good that they're positive again :P

Cmon now, youve been around long enough to know the answer to that.

AMD is the light that guideth: The force of wholesome pure goodness that only wants to bring low cost performance to all the deserving children of the world while saving us from the soul stealing schemes of the Evil Empire that is Intel. All with no consideration of profit.

Its not a joke. There are guys who actually believe that crap.

You said this was for enthusiasts not gamers.

This is a gaming site - how many gamers are playing at 3 million fps whilst encoding pr0n to divx at the same time? Just the AMD ones?

.WMV. . . it streams to the 360 in the living room

I just posted a story. I have posted positive Intel stories. I can post anything I want about CPUs.

No, we just enjoy ridiculing you :) ....

Except that that isn't possible. I see from the 65nm post you're now back to saying AMD is not using the pitch of the transistor size, but getting power down by using larger spacing.

You are so full of it.......

This is an IT site. I said gamers who buy this are fools just like gamers who buy C2Q.

Nah man, I'm not bashing you or being a dick or anything. I'm genuinly curious as to why your passion for this one company is so strong?

It's just a news story. This is a CPU site. I posted a few days ago that Woodcrest/Clovertown has appeared on the TPC-H list and

NO ONE had anything to say.

Seriously, I'm on of the biggest Tualatin fans around. I covet your system...so much. I would drop two 1.4Ghz PIIIs in there and let my mouth water. It's one of my...things.

id have to say that the claim baron made is still mostly correct, however im only going by what your saying i do not know how baron is, and i have not read this claim. but by what your saying that baron said. id have to say that yes he was wrong about this system not being for enthusiast that would be wrong to say in any market cause an enthusiast just buys the things to test/playwith/promote/have it just to have it. so its new and expensive, of course its for enthusiast, however as for him saying its not for gamers. id say he is correct for now. or atleast untill some "designed for multi core" games come out.
