I know that this board will run ddr 400 (pc3200) dual channel, but will it run ddr 333 (pc2700) dual channel or does it require the ddr 400? If ddr 333 won't run dual channel, how much of a percentage performance hit roughly am i looking at with single channle ddr 333 (pc2700) vs ddr 400 (pc3200)?

Single and dual channel doesn't really effect real world performance that you will notice.. However, ddr400 vs ddr333 is quite a difference. I would run single channel ddr400 or beter.
