Whats the max rpm for the stock hsf that comes with the core 2 duos? How can I control what speed the cpu runs at? I have a E6400 and an asus p5b-e, no overclock and the hsf that came with it with arctic silver 5.
I my temps are weird; using TAT I get mid 30s idle and mid 60s under load using TAT to load both cores. With asus qfan disabled the cpu fan spins between 1600 and 1700 rpm all the time. With it enabled it goes between 900 and 1700 rpm. The ambient temp is around 20c.
I don't think case airflow is a problem because the motherboard temps never go higher than 37c under load.
Since the idle temps seem normal while the load temps are really high, I think that the problem has to do with the hsf fan not spinning fast enough.
