If gives a $hit. They're all imports.
Now if the electric piece of $hit hit a domestic made car I'd be really pissed.
How I typed "if" instead of "who" shows I'm under the influence of drugs.
zpyrd wrote : Who gives a $hit? They're all imports.
I give a sh*t, it's a miracle. Finally a 2-place roadster made in England that won't piss oil. Actually, they'll still probably figure out how to get an electric car to leave oil spots in the driveway...
LMAO
Quote : According to Volkov, eyewitnesses to the crash told him the Roadster had gone “unnoticed” because of its low profile and silent powertrain.
... A bird in the hand is worth a foot in the ass...

That's just sad. My Coworker bought a $90k BMW last year and 5 days later, driving home, some jackass in a beater rammed the car head on while she was stopped at a sign.
Why would anyone buy a BMW? [/going for a double bastage]
$90k is what, £2.37? Just rummage down the back of the sofa for loose change and buy a new one. [/Tom]
Or just 'liberate' one. [/also Tom]
Riser wrote : some jackass in a beater rammed the car head on while she was stopped at a sign.
Did the sign say "wrong way, turn around"?
I sense that someone here is having a pop at me [/sensitive]
The sign was probably written and not felt shapes. This is known to confuse BMW drivers worldwide. The highway authorities initial plan to prevent the sale of BMWs to anyone with an IQ in single figures has proved unworkable. Instead they have struck a deal with The Hun to subsidise felt shape signs. Where writing is unavoidable, large crayon-based fonts shall be used.[/that's how to go for a double bastage]
...*eyes some new, llama fur seat covers for the 530d*...
Won't they slip about on the plastic?[/still going for it]
That's pseudo-leather y'know..... [/considers retaliation with Tata gag]
530d? A diesel? I had no idea you were a Guardian reader. Is the llama fur to go over or under the beaded seat covers?
The fur seat covers are not going to last long, not when the inevitable 3000KV static shocks generated between them and the corduroy elbow patches start flying about.[/still determined]
It was funny how it happened. T intersection, she was stopped and waiting to turn left. A truck came from the right, tried making a fast turn in, didn't see her metallic gray car and went straight into it.
Totalled the Ford F150 from 1988 and the BMW only had cosmetic damage to the bumper. The styrofoam or whatever they put in those beasts didn't break or dent.
Guardian? No. Telegraph, yes ...*ashamed*...
Oh dear. Way to lose personal credibility [/sips Malibu and pineapple]
The Torygraph? Hang your head in shame.
Still, I expect it's a requirement to be right-wing before they sell you a beemer, eh?
Riser wrote : Totalled the Ford F150 from 1988 and the BMW only had cosmetic damage to the bumper.
Why am I not surprised?
American engineering < European engineering.
It's either that or the Independent ...*shudders*... The Mail and the Express are for the over 65's, the red tops for the under 65 IQ. The Times... fcuk that. I hated that paper when I was a paperboy, too fcuking bulky.
Fancy another drink? I'll make sure you get a poncey umbrella to go in it next time. [/damn, rumbled]
RobD wrote : It's either that or the Independent]
What's wrong with The Whale Saver?
@smelly llama:
I was surprised since the Ford was all metal.. I figured there would be more damage to the car since it was metal on metal. The adjuster was out the next day at lunch looking it over and said the BMWs are built like bricks.
The Europeans can engineer a car well, they just can't build them well. The Asians have pretty much cornered the market on well-engineered and well-built cars.
Riser wrote : The adjuster was out the next day at lunch looking it over and said the BMWs are bought by people with the intellect of a brick.
Fixed.
Anoobis wrote : The Asians have pretty much cornered the market on well-engineered and well-built cars.
Don't say that around Riser. Apparently anything well-engineered and reliable is a chick car.
Yes but when you awaken from your drunken stupor, will have no memory of this thread.......
Awaken? That'll be sometime Mon am. Just getting started. Just plugging the wife's lappy into the stereo outside. Besides, I remember everything llama man.
KingLoftusXII wrote : Don't say that around Riser. Apparently anything well-engineered and reliable is a chick car.
Honda cars are for women or men who wear matching outfits such as yourself.
Riser wrote : Honda cars are for women or men who wear matching outfits such as yourself.
Dodge's, with their large, dorky, tacky grills are for guys with small pricks such as yourself. I drive, key word being drive, a manual. On average, across their entire vehicle lines, no one makes a better manual than Honda.
Honda=chick car. OK...but...
Mine brakes shorter, handles better, is quicker, is faster, will out corner yours, is more comfortable, is more reliable, has much better resale, and to top it off, gets better fuel economy.
So whats that say about your car???
Why do people have something against an electric car? Especially something like the Tesla?
I think it's a brilliant idea, personally, the oil and petrol and stuff isn't going to last forever, and besides, I like a car that I can sit in and drive without going deaf in the process.
A decent car without the roar is no longer a car.
Perhaps not, but I don't get to work with tinnitus. [/satisfied Audi 200 owner]
Actually, still on the Audis, the 200 (US: 5000SE; RSA: 500SE; Audi: C3/200) I drive is easily the most well-built car I've owned to date. It's about 17 years old, without any rattles, knocks, or any noises caused by thingies coming loose with age.
I don't know what the newer ones are like, although I am planning on buying an A4 or A5 early next year, and (if my finances go as well as I'm planning) an R8 in 2010.
Then again, it's almost as likely I'll be buying the VW Passat next year instead, due to it being about the same as the A4 and quite a bit cheaper.
"I don't get to work with tinnitus." I'd blame the bluetooth streaming for that.
mugz wrote : I don't know what the newer ones are like, although I am planning on buying an A4 or A5 early next year
My boss has an '07 A4 and has no problems in 30ish K miles but...the 2.0 Turbo burns about a quart of $8/quart oil a month, which the dealer says is "normal."
The new '09 A4 looks sweet.
Too bad you couldn't afford one.
And prove the data you suggest.
| Riser wrote : Too bad you couldn't afford one.

You're talking to who?
If me, then I actually can afford one, given a monthly salary that equates to...
*hits online forex rate site thingy*
...US$11,724.53. Further, the data I suggest are based on real-world experience of a single car, not the entire range, and the data I suggest on the newer cars is speculative at best, given no real-world experience in owning them to date.
If you're responding to King, an Audi will burn small amounts of oil. Mine uses about 500ml/1000KM on average, which is about what the manual states it should be using. Of course, the moment I start driving extensively on the open road, the oil usage drops. A lot of the Opels down here tend to do the same - burn oil in town, not burn oil on open road.
The Audi 200 manual states that the turbo variant uses about 900ml of oil/1000KM, and I'd guess this figure also improves quite dramatically when you do the entire 1000KM on an open-road trip.
Mechanics is an interesting field.

Yes I could.

@Mugz: it was at king.
@King: Thank you for defining the name "Tool."
Aside from that, you're comparing two difference classes of cars. If you're that concerned over such minor differences.. 7.1 to 7.2.. .2 seconds in a quarter mile, etc. The Avenger has an autostick in it and most cars today don't come with Manuals unless you want to pay additional money. Times have changed old man.
This can only be said of you:
You are a douchebag; a tool.
Go outside and do something on your vacation other than whine like a schoolgirl.
haha
Riser wrote : Aside from that, you're comparing two difference classes of cars.
Actually, figures are from an '03 5spd auto 4dr Accord. Mine would be a tick quicker.
Riser wrote : If you're that concerned over such minor differences.. 7.1 to 7.2.. .2 seconds in a quarter mile, etc.
You got roughly 30hp on me. Just an example of crap Dodge engineering.
Riser wrote : The Avenger has an autostick in it and most cars today don't come with Manuals unless you want to pay additional money.
It was $800 LESS for the stick in my car. Amazing what you'll spout off about...
Riser wrote : You are a douchebag; a tool.
Typical Riser. Wrong yet again so you resort to name calling. You're weak.
I don't think there's a single brand in this country, if not the world, where a manual is anything except the cheapest option. I don't know about GM, wouldn't touch them if you paid me.
I mean, 'O Poes Ek's Laaste'?!? (trans. Oh [female cat] I'm last!)
At least with Honda, the only time it's not cheaper is with the Accord V-6 Coupe. The 6-spd is a no-cost option.
Yeah, I haven't seen any cars where the manual is the more expensive option.
Riser does like to spout off about fcuk-all though.
Riser wrote : I'm an egotistical prick like that.
Price out new cars from all companies. Some of them charge more to have a manual put in since its not standard for the factories anymore.
30 more HP doesn't always mean faster but I guess you'll think like that. The car is also front wheel drive.
You can sit here and argue all you want. What you fail understand is that there a plenty of people who can't afford a car. Please, sit back and talk about your wife's car all day and how great it is. Its entertaining me, really.
An Accord, a real chick magnet.
It's his way. Everyone knows this but him apparently. The only one he's fooling is himself. Did I mention he's weak?
Jef-we lost Manny. The best 2 strike hitter in baseball. Guess it's up to Ortiz now.

I'd be pissy too if I looked like you and had your life. I forgive you.
How you doing, Mike? Good to see you. Delivered a few serves your way, Chief, but gladdened to see you're still going well.
How's things?
Been busy. First full week back home. Been traveling places. Heading out of town with the guys tonight to hit up the AMA super sportbike races.
Check your PMs.
Will do. Good to hear your well.
You're still the easiest target, but I admire your resilience to the uglies out there. lolz.
"No, no, no. You're fat." [/Rise declines another]
