Ok. I want to say that this isn't for me. One friend of mine was wondering if it'd even be possible to get a 5.25" floppy drive and have it be usable in an ATX case? Not a USB one, but a drive that would actually slide in there. The main purposes for this is a gag, but he wants it.

Can it be done and would it work?

yes. you need to have the extremely old floppy cable to connect to the 5 1/4 drive. the connector looks sorta like a cartrdige slot on a old video game system. anyway, just plug that regular side of the cable into the FDD slot on your mobo, and run it to the 5 1/4 drive. there might be a motherboard limitation on some boards, ive done it on a k7 board. but i would imagine most floppy controllers are the same for the past 10 or 15 years.

tryin to copy dos 3 onto the comp?

yep. thats the stuff. it would be probably be cheaper for you to ask around or go to garage sales and pick up a whole 1980s PC for a couple bucks. then you can grab the floppy drives outta them along with a couple cables and no shipping charges
