I have a brand new P5B-E, with a brand new SATA HD and SATA combo drive. Which SATA jacks should I use for the HD and combo drive?

I've built kit with the P5WDG2-WS using SATA HD and DVD.

It looks like you should be fine with attaching the HD and DVD to any of the main bank of 6 SATA connectors (4 Red 2 Black).
The numbering is 1-3 along the upper row and 4-6 on the second. So you may find that windows finds 3 pairs of 2 master and slave IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers.

One word of warning don't configure the controller as a RAID controller unless you have made yourself a SATA RAID Controller floppy. XP blue screens on install if you haven't installed the driver - but you only find out once it starts the install :D

Ooops 2nd word of warning make sure the mem you buy is on their QVL list - http://www.asus.com/999/download/products/1347/1347_10.pdf
I scratched my head for hours before when the 1st machine wouldn't boot.
Corsair 2GB XMS2-6400 C4 worked first time.

Happy Building
