Greetings,
The operations are qued in the registry, the temp files "system32/SETxx.tmp"
are there.
I reboot, but the operations are not performed.
The temp files remain in system32/ but the registry key is cleared..the
files are not modified!
I tested it using inuse.exe on non-system files, and got the same result.
After a Windows Update, it took me three days working on a dead system and
lots of "ntoskrnl.exe missing" messages until I discovered that files are
not updating properly at boot time.

The system drive is an image of an older one that was failing. The image was
made over a month ago and has been working flowlessly. Could imaging the
drive still has anything to do with it?

Alif
