Hi, I came across a socket A Athlon thunderbird and was looking for what was the best Mobo of its time for that chip. Dont know if anything runs more then PC133 sd-dram or if some boards ran faster memory.

Any help with this old stuff would be great.

I don't know about the best motherboard, but I was happy with my ECS K7S5A back when it was in service. It was cheap and stable, but didn't offer much in the way of overclocking.
And as to your memory question, the board had 2 PC133 slots as well as 2 DDR slots supporting up to PC2100 (DDR266). So you can find Socket A motherboards with DDR support.

there are also a lot of asrock socket A (ddr400) boards which computer stores are trying to sell off.

ya, watching a abit NF7-s with version 2, guy also is selling 2800 seperately. I have an extra gig of ddr400 corsair xms stuff with a agp 6800gt, so I think it might make a decent backup system. I might just sell off this old 1000 if the 2800 stays cheap enough. Thank guys for the help, and merry xmas
