You need at least a couple of ip ranges 1 is where the gateway resides unless you moved it to 254.

You may need to clone your pc's MAC address into the router. This is under the WAN setup.

The gateway IP address is reserved, you can not use it as a IP for a pc.

Example gate is 192.168.1.1, set lan range to something like 192.168.1.10 to 192.168.1.12 You computer will be with in the 10-12 range.

All if these can be changed tin the LAN configuration of the router.

OK, need some more info.

You can connect directly with modem to pc.

Do you get a private IP when you connect your pc to lan port ?
if so IP address.

Actually give me this:

Connection on port Status -> Support -> Details" give me all info from this screen.

What connection mode do you use to connect to your ISP. PPoE, DHCP, Static ...

Did they provide a userid and pw ???? Or did you get to pick it.

The modem is indicating it has a nat firewall built in, which shouldn't cause a problem.

Right Click on the "Local area Connection" then select "Status -> Support -> Details" give me all info from this screen.

Do this when direct connect to modem, which I think you did, but DNS and lease times and other info was missing.

Then do the same thing when the router is connected between the PC and modem.

I suspect something is not being passed through. This info should help me pin point it.

thanks man for the replies but i did get a solution doing this from another forum.

"You need to have the router LAN IP address on a separate subnet from the modem. If you're going to give the modem 192.168.1.1, put the router LAN address on 192.168.2.1. If the modem is on 192.168.1.1, you should not be able to ping it thru 192.168.1.2."

and the net works

thank you again :D

basically you have ip conflict between your adsl modem and the linksys.because from the modem you got 192.168.1.1 for the public ip and the same private ip from the linksys.a simple change in the 3rd octate solve the problem.
