Hi htoonthura:
I recently built a media center PC using an Intel m-board that is currently on special at www.newegg.com. It is a model DG965WHMKR retail version. I am very pleased with the board and if you are knowledgeable about building a pc you will find it is a fine board. It has the latest Intel 965 chipset which supports RAID, 6 sata drives, onboard graphics which meets the specifications for VISTA's highest requirements, 4 ddr2 memory slots that support up to 800Mhz (but only those specified by Intel), gigabyte ethernet port, 7.1 onboard audio withdigital output, 10 USB ports, firewire, plenty of PCI & PCI express slots and supports any Core2 Duo except the Extreme version. It has a 3 yr warranty and the retail version includes an application CD to set up the motherboard.........but, you will want to download the latest bios from www.intel.com and flash them right after installing the O.S. and chipset drivers are installed. Setting up the board for RAID is a bit complicated but if you remember to use the floppy for RAID during the O.S. install, you shouldn't have any problems. It is currently selling for $119.95 and is a fine motherboard as long as you are careful to read up on all the info Intel support provides on their website. Mine is currrently running 6 hard drives; 2 in RAID 0, and the rest used for storing 1.8 TB of video programming. I also am using a GeForce 7600GT OC to provide a DVI port for my LCD monitor. You will find that this board with a core 2 duo with the factory heatsink/fan is a very cool-running and quiet PC. Mine idles at 32C and rarely gets up to 40C. Good luck with your new PC build.........you'll love the core2 duo processor!
