Turn on computer, fans spin up but no video. The optical drive will only get power when I take out the IDE cable (can't open the optical drive unless I take off the IDE cable). Most people suspect a short in the mobo. Any suggestions?

Just so that you get some useful advice please post your configuration and what you've done to troubleshoot, ie, indeed plugged in both ATX and 4-pin power supplies, etc.

Good luck.

I've seen issues with this board when plugging in both Optical drive and Hard drive on IDE cable. One must be set to mast and the other to slave (HD to master preferably) and plug in the cable accordingly.Cable select doesn't work on most. But it can be anything.
Halcyon is right. We need more info.

I fixed it. There were 4 risers under the mobo that wern't supposed to be there. Took them out, everything is fine.
Thank you for your help and time!
