upgrading from a 7800gtx, is it worth it?

hey fellas, quick question. i just purchased http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824112005 and with the new resolution i was wondering if my 7800gtx could handle all games at that max, i like my games pretty. as of now my system stands as

FX-60 s939
2GB GSkill ddr500 (1gbX2)(running at ddr400, got it incase i wanted to o/c)
EVGA 7800GTX 470/1200 (its a year old)
160gb WD HD
Sound Blaster Audigy 4
Abit KN8-SLi mobo

i wish i had the money for a 8800GTS but i dont have that money. budget is around 250$. My eye was on a X1950XT, would it have a significant boost in performance or should i just stick with my 7800GTX until either the 8800 series lowers or i get enough money for a dx10 card?

Try it with the 7800GTX.

Try waiting out a few months, then upgrade to a R600 or a G80.

Agreed, your 7800GTX will handle it very well. Although, this monitor is the same but cheaper. Cheaper than the Sceptre even after the rebate, and its free shipping.

your 7800gtx will have enough grunt (but not enough to run games on super high with high high fps i mean - but the eye candy will not be plain),to run these new games comeing out in 2007,then you can wait for ati's first wave of dx10,but,well,the 2nd wave would be better,

thanks fellas. i figured my 7800GTX would still be beast even more so after getting the FX60 for christmas. had a 3700+ before. haha, i couldnt wait, when i got home last night i droped that sucker right in .

when i mean high, i just like unblocky games. i use AA 4X usually and thats it. with game settings set to high. i dont play that high end games though. cs1.6 BF2, BF2142(if it works), WC3. i cant wait for C&Ctiberiumwars though. gotta have that at max powaaa.

sorry im rambling. my buddy has a 7800GTX and thinkin about going sli. so i figured id sell him mine for 250$ and pick up a X1950XT, would the performance be ALOT greater or would i hardly notice it?
