Canon g2 camera is not recognized under windows 7

have the same problem with my Canon G2 / Windows 7 home premium 64 bits
Camera is not recognised.
Have downloaded a new DC WIA driver and still not recognised.

Camera does not show up in computer or anywhere else. Will show under hardware stating driver not installed.

anybody any suggestions ?

Check windows compatitably center and see if it is compatitable. Also check to see if you are loading 32 bit or 64 bit drivers. 32 bit drivers will not work in windows 64 bit OS.

I have checked and the driver is made for Win7-64 bits

I previouslu tried to use the XP driver and run it under XP mode but no succes.

It does not recognise the camera when connected to the Win7 computer.

Only way at present to download the pictures is to connect it to an old X86 computer that runs under windows XP or to insert the CF card into a slot on my HP 2575 printer and download them from there.

It is not the simplest way but will have to do for now untill a better solution is found.
