I am a total noob. My computer is not running as fast as it should. It is really ticking me off. I need help with bios settings.
specs:
core 2 6300
gigabyte p965-s3
2 gigs corsair ddr2 800 cas 5 ram
160gig 7200rpm 16m HD

Can anyone get me screenshots of their bios with similar specs?
Also, I dont know how to set memory timings.
Please help, I've never done this before!

It is taking longer to boot windows and get everything loaded than it did on my old P4 2.8 cpu with 512mb of ram.
Also, it takes about 5 minutes for Dark Messiah of Migh and Magic to come up when I click on it.
Is performace affected when using windows before activating it?

No, it isn't. Make sure that DMA is enabled for HD's. Sometimes, with a new install/major change, it will automatically set to PIO mode. GL :)

DMA stands for direct memory access. Get into device manager and click the plus sign on IDE ATA/ATAPI CONTROLLERS. Double click on the Primary IDE channel, click the advanced settings tab, and check/set the transfer mode to DMA if available. Also check the current transfer mode and post.
