Dumb Question...

Helping a Blonde with a new computer.
The computer is a recent DELL
2.4g Celeron, 512m RAM, etc.
She loaded it with the hidden Administrator account that DELL usually
does.
She set the first user account up, but did complete the setup, then
attempted with the same user name again.
The setup simply went to User_2, but this slowed the computer to a
crawl.

Question:
Is the best approach to set up another user and completely do away with
the initial user.
What if the first User_1 account doesn't go away?
Looking in Windows explorer, the first account has nothing in the
directories.
I am afraid that simply doing this will no do away with the first
account the speed will not increase.

There is no other problems that would cause the slow down. The machine
is clean.

Thanks In Advance,

dc
