Ps3 vs laptop

hello,
my brother owns a HP Pavilion HDX 16t with an Nvidia 130m graphic card. I have a PS3 connected to a Toshiba regza 1080p LCD TV, I know most games run at 720p on PS3 but my question is which is better for gaming (graphics included) we both have PES 2010 and GTA4 and to my untrained eye they look and run much better on my PS3 - am i right or wrong? I realize most on here will be PC over PS3 people but im just looking for an honest answer and i realize that top gaming PCs are better than consoles, the question is purely towards my brothers laptop

you seem to be telling me my brothers laptop isnt the very high end but you didnt answer my question....and i have uncharted 2 before you start telling me about PS3's ram

Feel confident to tell this to everybody you know

A new top of the line desktop computer/laptop is by far superior than a ps3.
The secret to the ps3 is they are run on low levels of
anti aliasing and anisotropic filtering and lower resolution
which allows them quite good frame rates. If you have a big
enough monitor/tv of high enough quality and put both together
you could see that the desktop computer can output a higher quality
picture and also get faster frame rates at the same time

please explain uncharted 2? Isnt it a fact that games on PC arnt optimized as they are on consoles and the multi platform games are ports from the consoles? i agree that top end gaming PCs are more powerful than a PS3 yet Ps3 exclusives have won graphics of the year for the last 2 years - killzone 2, uncharted 2 and is expected to win this year with god of war 3 (E3 awards).

You still havent answered my question which is, is my brothers laptop better for gaming than a Ps3?

I think the ps3 is better for gaming than ur bro lappy... but when comparing to the latest high end gaming notebook the ps3 is totally less in performance....
