Ok, that makes more sense, but trust me on this one...
The E6600 is a smoking fast CPU and there's not way it's going to be to slow in e-mail, installations, office apps. etc. Your hdd will be a big bottleneck on installations and working with large files, but what can you do?
I think the article about the 8800 "NEEDING" the fastest CPU is misleading in that it doesn't "NEED" an x6800 (or better) to outperform every other video card. Rarely (if ever) have we seen a video card that can truly keep up with latest and greatest CPU's so we're just used to thinking that the GPU should be the weaker links (in games). It's not like you're pairing a $400 card with a P3 and not seeing ANY benifits over the cheaper GPUs. it's just that the 8800's will see EVEN MORE gains with faster processors. THIS IS A GOOD THING.
Should get my 8800 GTS from newegg tomorrow
. I'll be pairing it with an E6400 and I'm not worried. Guarentee you it will out perform my little 6800 vanilla card.
