Sound Problem

Ok I just bought a computer and it has a X-fi Xtreme Music card in it, now the sound is fine and everything but every now and then it will cut out the sound to ventrilo and windows, I can still hear music and video game sounds but I can not hear windows or ventrilo. I then have to switch modes in volume panel for the X-fI cards. I have to switch from game mode to entertainment mode to get it back, then it will go again after a bit and I siwtch again and get the sound back. It just keeps doing this everynow and then and I am unsure why. Anyone had any similar problems?

Never heard of that problem before. I would re-install the drivers and any software that came with the Soundcard, and look for updates to the software.
