March 24, 2005: Pocket PC users, please note that the new version of Microsoft Reader for Pocket
PC (version 2.4) posted today is a bug fix release primarily intended for users of devices running
Windows Mobile 2003 and Windows Mobile 2003, Second Edition. While this version will run on all
supported Pocket PC devices, we are only recommending that users of devices running these operating
systems upgrade. Upgrading will not require reactivation of your Pocket PC device.

For what it is worth, I was having no problems with version 2.3 but
installed the upgrade anyway. I did not uninstall 2.3 first but rather
installed 2.4 over the top of it and answered yes to the questions to
proceed with the upgrade and to replace certain files. Soft re-set and all
is fine with the correct version showing. No need to re-activate. Using
Dell Axim x3i and Windows Mobile 2003.

ditto. No probs with my V35 running WM2003, when upgrading from 2.3 without
removing the old version first.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Only now can I read .lit
files on my iPAQ4700. I could read them on my desktop or convert them
to HTML to read on the iPAQ - but I couldn't bookmark my place in HTML
files.
This is much better. Even the smallest font size is quite large but it
seems easy enough to page forward using the touch pad instead of the
stylus.

Does it address the issue of not activating if installed to a storage
card?

Haven't tried it myself, but I think the answer is no. I've certainly seen
it reported that it doesn't activate if installed to a file store, so a
storage card probably won't work either.

No. I tried that first but had to uninstall then reinstall to the
default.

Thanks for the info Dave. I guess I'll stick with my other readers
then. I like to keep the Main Memory as free as possible to *run*
programs rather than store them.
