netgear xe-102, pocketpc, and trendnet fast cf ethernet ad..

I've got a toshiba e755 that connects fine with the ethernet adapter
thru a five port switch but not thru a Netgear xe-102 homeplug device.
My laptop, using the trendnet ethernet adapter works fine thru the
xe-102. I've tried using VxIP releasing and renewing but always get the
169... Ip address connected thru the xe-102. Anybody have such a
combination working?
