cat5 and cat6

I was wondering

I have 4 pc's

slowest is an xp 1800 with gf2
fastest if an xp 2600 with fx5900

I use crossover over cat five at 100 mhz is cat six at 350 to 550 going to make a difference for me in my pings

I run cable modem and hub has 4 ports and one router
but I notice when I try to play games like Team arena or RTCW buy the time the 4 pc gets in its ping is like 590 unless I use one for dedicated and just run 3.

Any suggestions or any advice would greatly be appreciated.

It is not the problem with the cable. CAT 5 is good enough for now.

Change that HUB for a Switch.

A HUB is basically a repeator. Whatever comes in on one port is sent out or repeated on all ports. Which will increase ping times and network traffic.
