This is just to keep me honest, really. Make this indelible. Sometime July last year I decided to do something serious about becmoing more fit and losing weight.

First milestone is 224lbs (101.6 kg). Last time I know I weighed 224 was March 1997. I comuted by bike and was starting to train for a cross country trip. I shatered a leg on a weekend ride.

Starting weight 285 (129.3 kg) with about 32% body fat.

Today, after a year of peroneus longus hernia, iliotibial band syndrome, metatarsal stress fractures, the flu, secondary sinus infection, and retrocalcaneal bursitis (shoes ARE important, yo!), Mr. Scale spat out 223.5.

Milestone 2 is 174. Should hit that by next year about this time.

Ultimate goal is between 155 and 165

Unless you want to be skin and bones, 185 lbs at that height is probably a bit more healthy and realistic end result.

I'm 5'11" at 160 I look like I had AIDS. That was 18 years ago.
I was up to 260 but I've dropped down to 240 over the last few months and my goal is 200.
I'm loosing weight to control my blood pressure. Which has thankfully dropped down to the high normal range with the aid of medication and loosing weight.

For 5'11" a good weight range is 170 to 190.

i hate the fact you all use lbs....

but im 6ft and 11 and a half stone (161lbs).

i go to the gym every other day, and climbing twice a week, aswell as pull ups and sit ups in the mornings...

last check up i had 9% body fat.

edit

i got to 12 and a half stone last christmas (175lbs) i hated it, when i lent to one side i could feel the flab fold under my rib cage.... i couldnt let myself gain any more than that, tbh.

edit 2

at 6ft anything over 12 and a half stone is over weight and anything below 9 and a half is underweight.

so ideally you want to be between 133lbs and 175lbs

Roger that. Last time I was around that, I might not have looked overweight, but I was. I think at, er. . . 22-24% bf. It wasn't for lack of anything-- I could run a 5:30 mile and do 90 situps in a minute (but no upper body strength to speak of-- typical cyclist / runner type).

It is my getting down below 4.3705559 × 10^28 amu will help towards the following fitness goals:

  • sub 6 minute mile (and consequently a sub 20 min 5K and maybe a sub 3 hour marathon)
  • 50 consecutive pushups
  • at least one pull up (I've never been able to do one. Ever. Never ever.)

i do 15 pullups every morning, although recently ive been trying to build the 1 arm pull up and chin ups, i can only do about 5-6 chinups and the 1 arm pull-up is impossible >.<

you should look into more sociable workouts, i personally love climbing, i go to an indoor rock wall, and its surprising how friendly and supportive everyone is, its a break from the monotony of the GYM.

running and stair master are brilliant ways to loose excess weight and are brilliant Cardio exercise, Swimming is my next favourite workout to climbing my strength is higher than my fitness though, i can only complete about 25 lengths of a swimming pool.

Aye.

Addictive, too.

The misses is doing a Marine Mud Run tomorrow (Knoxville, TN). I'll be watching the kids. Then the kids do a kiddie run. Nice. I'll be the only un-muddy one. Since we're out that way, and I didn't get to run, I'll make 'em let me do bit o' the disc golf.
