Any recommendations for a fanless PCIe card under $100 or so? I'll spend more if I have to but this system will probably never play any cutting edge games.

This card is for my wife's Shuttle XPC. Noise is an issue so I want to go fanless, but it's obviously it's cramped in there so heat is also a worry.

All input welcome, thanks!

try this.
its a little more than 100$ but the fanless are more $

if you arent into heavy gaming then there is a 76gs which is cheaper.

For the same price another option;

However that GF7600GS is not a good option, better to spend more for the GT or XT or less for an X1600PRO;

There are also other GS cheaper than the one you posted too.

I wouldn't bother with a GS because it lacks some PureVideo functions as well like HD inverse telecine.

Well up until recently it was primarily the GF7600GS that was more widely available of the potential gamers.

There was a the X1300s and the older X800 and X800XL, but for the new gen the GS was the poster boy until recently, the thing is that it's features and performance are somewhat limited.

Mainly depend on what the cards will be doing as to which is best, but I prefer the 7600GT with it's added features and low power consumption and the X1650XT for it's top performance, and the X1600P for price.

sorry to go off topic but for fans the best way to go is low rpm large fans for cooling.

Hijack away my friend! ;) Thanks for the info, I'll check out these cards. It kills me that I just ordered from Newegg a couple days ago and didn't realize I needed a card. I'm gonna try and find a card locally so I can get this machine finished and get on with my life!

good luck. hope you find what you need/want. :D

Looking at the links posted, none of the cards will work other than the 7600GS. Problem is, the PCIe slot in this computer is right next to the case side, so it can't take up two slots. Bummer!

you could go with an activecooling card as it should be smaller.
but not sure how loud the fan would be?
