Hello, I DON'T PAY FOR CABLE because you're paying to watch advertiment, instead I watch free internet TV and DVD Movies. But, all the new TV'S are HD which mean my collection of DVDmovies are obsolete unless I buy a blu-ray....then the DVD has to be Blu-ray. I'm tired of being manipulated by big business. Is there a Flatscreen TV I can purchase to watch my DVD's with HDMI for my internet that will look like I'm watching movies instead of soap opera's? T

You can watch standard definition content on an HD TV, most still have the standard Yellow Red White connector on the back for composite video so you can hook an older DVD player into it. Many TVs will even do their best to upscale the content so it looks a bit better. Also, blu-ray players can play DVDs, they too do their best to upscale SD content to HD when sending to an HD TV. Just because the TV is new and big doesn't mean they made it not work with older technology.
