The ram is overpriced, i would get this instead, lower timings and its cheaper. The psu that comes with that case cant be any good, since a decent 450w power supply starts at around $50, and i doubt that case would be $9.99 without the psu. Get this one, get psu for the price, best $50 psu that you could get, it will be much more stable then the one that comes with the case. Spend the extra couple of bucks and get a 1950pro instead, considerably better performance then a 7900gs.
thanks for the hint to the ram, I was originally gonna go for the g-skill rams but some people on newegg commented that they don't work or at least don't do well with the p5b so I went with one of the few makes i still know from building my last pc ;-)
I've been an nvidia fan all the way because of best price/performance ratings AND best stability (drivers/actual performance), but if you say the 1950pro is better then I'll look into it :-) thanks!
I didn't really knew what case to get, since I never bought a mid size tower b4, any hints to good towers with good included or no psu that comes with it?
Another thing I thought about was going to upgrade the desktop with a new gpu that supports DX10 AND is passively cooled (or water cooled?) and silence the whole system... What would you recommend me there so I don't have to buy more upgrades than needed?[/quote]
I'll be mostly playing games (WoW) and/or programming, watching movies , occasional video/photo editing and so on...
At some point mid next year I might upgrade the graphics card once dx10 makes it worth it (support and so on...).
I'd be very glad to hear your thoughts!

For the monitor ditch the 19", you can get a dell 20.1" WS non ultrasharp for $290, usually more like $250 when they have a special offer running: http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna [...] u=320-5123 response time is 5ms and the res is 1680x1050.
I would get less expensive memory and instead upgrade you CPU to the E6600. Also for the graphics card I would spend a little more if you're into gaming. Also for the DVD burner you can get a samsung version of the same thing with lightscribe for $29 with free shipping. I got that for xmas and it's pretty nice, comes with all the software and crap too. Since you won't be using the PSU from the case, you could find a case that costs about the same but doesn't include a PSU, that way you'll get a better case for the same money. Lastly think if you'll really need 320 gigs? If not then just go for a 160 or 250 gig.
thank you for your proposal, could you link me to any reviews?
I'm VERY careful buying that LCd since it'll be my first LCD (been using really good CRTs until now...) and I'd hate to see any ghosting or bad image quality...

same as above...
I'm really trying to save on the gpu but still want to be able to play WoW without ANY problems (which whould work with the proposed setup or ATI card). and upgrade to a DX10 card later.....
thank you for the dvd burner hint, I might go with the E6600 if I have the cash ;-).
oh and I really do need the 320 gigs ;-) I've been considering buying a 320gig drive and a 80gig drive as system drive though, could be good idea or bad idea depending on how the MB manages it's SATA controller(s)
Why did you decide to go witht he P5B instead of the P5N-e???
mainly because I don't need sli support and don't plan to spend any $$ on stuff I don't need.
is there any other reason I'd want the p5n-e?
well its actually much cheaper $129 right now.. and for more features and upgradability i thought it was weird that you went with a more expensive board.

since I need wireless anyway and getting it on the mobo is cheaper than buying a seperate card, isn't it?
hummm not sure whether what you say is true but even presuming it is, some1 said that the card runs very hot and that is something I really really dislike, especially since I'm going with a mid tower this time...
