Hey guys I own the above power supply and and after much saving im going to buy a X1950 XT.

Now I know all about the power requiments of all the new cards and i was wondering if its powerfull enough to run the card.
A friend of mine has a X1950 XTX with a X2 4200+ and his system is stable as rock and has no issues with his 400W.

The current specs of this power supply is 15A on the 12v1 and 10A 12v2 and 21A on the 5.5 and 22A on the 3.3 .
I know the 12 volt rails are kinda thin but i did use the psu calc and it says my total system usage is 306W.
The psu is also an ATX V2 psu with a Pci-X power connector.

So im kinda hoping i can get away with my current psu.
I dont overclock anything of mine as i cant afford to replace it anytime soon so thats not a factor.
Rest of my system is :

AMD 3500+
1 GIG OCZ Ram
1 80 gig Hd
1 250 Sata
X800xl (Current Card want to replace it with the X1950 XT)
Asus K8N Sli-deulxe
Aopen 400 Watt

Thank Guys any other info let me know.

That does look a little too close. Most power is used on the 12v rail, if you take the 306/12 you get 25.5 amps (plus or minus). Your psu puts out a combined 22 amps maybe. You can try it and see but I kind of doubt it, also aopen is NOT considered a good psu maker.

You have two problems then, the psu is not that great to begin with and your requirements are higher than it can put out.....

I dont mind Spend the $50-$100 but the people where I live put @least a 200 - 400 % mark up on eveything.

That Fortron PSU is roughly R350 - R400 now the only place I can buy Wants a R 1000 for it which is just nuts I dont mind guys making a profit but there is a limit of how much im willing to ripped of.

For roughly R 730 I can get an Zalman 400W.
Have you heard of a Huntkey PSu before just sounds bit a dodgey.
Zalman ZM460-APS Power Supply - 460W for R860
OR a Thermaltake Tough Power 600 Watt
Enermax 500 Watt
