i have a pentium D 820 2.8 heres some detailed specs:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00609380&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=1843644

i have the X1900GT instead of that geforce 7300LE.

ok so when i boot up my computer, i look for the bios menu (or whatever its called) but i can't find it there. none of the things have some sort of cpu config. things. this site says i need to unlock it:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00590499&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=1843644

its towards the bottom. will that work or is there a different way of finding it. thanks :)

Ok get a camera and take a few pics of the BIOS screen for us, put them on imageshack (or other photo hosting site) so we can have a look into it, have a look for stuff like 'cpu config' or 'overclock' etc.

Have a little look around, chances are though that you won't find anything as the motherboard is OEM, HP may have disabled overclocking. In that case you can't overclock and the only real way getting around this is to buy a new motherboard.
