Sounds very familiar. A lot of families in Liverpool rely on building work in some shape or form. Those families, and often, entire neighbourhoods are less than happy about the influx of cheap labour. Racism, unfortunately, is on the increase.
I can see the BNP gaining a foothold here in much the same way they have in places like Oldham and Burnley. Turning a once rational person who's had their livelihood taken away by, to them, invaders, isn't to tricky a task.
Luckily we are also somewhat of a militant crowd too, hopefully we'll demand and force some government intervention before it gets too bad.

Truth is ... I haven't talk about the Rays because (before this year), they stunk! I haven't been to a single game in 4-5 years. When I would hear about the Rays rookie 3rd baseman, Evan Longoria (who should be Rookie of the Year in the AL) ... I always thought they were talking about Eva Longoria ... seriously ... and I thought there was some kind of a joke going on 
I just started following the team late this season (when they were winning), so yeah, I'm guilty of being a fare weather fan. Susan, my companion, is from Boston, so we always kind of followed the Red Sox ... but just at the end of the year. The Yankee's play spring training here and I've seen a few games (mostly to just drink beer and not hassle with crowds) - but I'm not a Yankees fan at all.
Maybe that makes me a baseball hypocrite ... I'll admit that. I'm a football fan. That's about it.
