your CPU will be a huge bottleneck with just one 8800. Reports are saying that the 8800 bottlenecks on anything less than a E6600 Conroe chip, so there is no point in doing a SLI set with your current computer. ALso, I'm not sure 680W would be enough for two of those.

Please stop BSing.

Anything, even X6800s bottlenecks a 8800. The truth is, it's not by a huge amount. Any modern dual core, is fine with 8800s.

What power supply do you have? What brand? Should be fine.
A 4400+ is fine, it won't be worth going to a E6600.

Your powersupply should be enough, and don't worry about your CPU at all. At most a little overclocking could be used, but even that probably won't be necessary.

Major, I have roughly the same parts as you do(4800 instead of 4400) And I too have a 680w PSU running my 2 7900GTX's. Its not enough output for 2 8800s due to the lack of amps on each of the rails. For SLi, you'd be considering a 850w+ PSU.
