Cheap digital camera which can be used as hi res webcam?

Hi,

I wondered if anyone has got a cheap digital camera set up as a webcam. 2 or
3 Mp cams are now very cheap, but it is invariably impossible to tell from
published specs whether they can be used at their full resolution as a
webcam. I'm not looking for full motion, just still image capture at regular
intervals. Some cameras in webcam mode only operate at a webcam-style
resolution of 640x480.

I have a very cheap (i.e. free) 100k digital camera which has the
functionality required (can be powered by USB andf controlled by VfW
interface hence all normal webcam capture software. But the resolution is
only 320x240!
